Kirk found his dad – who had four children – at his home in Bulphan, Essex and had tried to resuscitate him.
The 34-year-old star has been bravely opening up about his grief battle since and told Daniel O’Reilly (AKA Dapper Laughs) that Mick’s suicide attributed to his relapse.
Kirk, who is now sober, shared on the podcast Menace to Sobriety: “My dad killed himself and I found my father.
“The second I cut my dad down, said goodbye to my dad, straight away that addiction come in and I rung …

Kirk was gripped with emotion and paused before adding: “The second I cut my dad down I gave him CPR, gave him cuddles and kisses and said goodbye.
“I ran out the house and called the drug dealer.
“That was the only thing that could have stopped me wanting to … “
Dan said: “Kill yourself?”
Wiping away tears, Kirk confessed: “But yeah, I went on a big relapse.”
Kirk said he had battled with suicidal thoughts and wanted others who felt the same way to know that they aren’t alone.
He said: “I do understand where people get with suicide, I tried it myself. I don’t know if it was a botched attempt but lucky enough I’m still here you know.
“There is help, I know that it’s f*****g hard. And I don’t mean help with doctors and for friends, there’s help for someone to be with you and sit with you, when you’re going through these bad things.
“The reason I tried to do it this year is because I felt that I was on my own. I had no one. I’m sitting in my house days and days and I had no-one there. I genuinely honestly thought that no one would miss me if I go.

“But once I changed my life I realised things are going good.”
Dan wanted to know: “What would you say to anyone who is considering suicide?”
Kirk replied: “What you leave behind is just pure upset and a lot of questions and no one is ever going to get the answer to the questions because you’re not there to answer them.
“If you tell people what you’re going through they might not be able to help you but they’ll hold your hand through it.”

You’re Not Alone
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.
