Now Sonique – known for the smash It Feels So Good – is preparing to take to the stage for the 90s Baby Festival in July, which is being headlined by Ronan Keating.
Other acts on the line-up include Peter Andre and boyband Blue.
Sonique’s It Feels So Good reached number one in the UK when it was released in 2000 and also enjoyed huge success in the US, charting at number eight on the US Billboard 200.
She hasn’t released an album since 2011 but it seems Sonique is preparing for a huge comeback.
Last month she revealed she’s playing the Silver Hayes stage at Glastonbury in June.
Sonqiue told fans: “I’m only doing bloody Glastonbury Festival this year! Can’t wait, it’s always been a dream.
“I’ll be doing a DJ set on the Silver Hayes stage on 27th June, if you’re going to be there, come along and let’s have a party.”
Sonique, who won a Brit Award for Best British Female Solo Artist in 2001, recently opened up about her last performance almost two decades ago.
She told Dazed: “One of the last gigs I did was in Earl’s Court. The gig had an orchestra and it made me think, ‘when I come back to music, I want to come back big’. This was 18 years ago.”
Sonique also revealed her mum predicted It Feels So Good would be a huge success.
She said: “My mum felt it.
“I wanted to play a record that I could dance to but also relax to, and I think it really does that. My mum claimed it as well, she told me it would be a hit and I laughed at her at the time.”
