MICK JAGGER has revealed the Rolling Stones were so inspired while making their new album that they‘ve almost finished the NEXT one.
Fans have waited almost two decades to hear original music from the band.

And ahead of the release of Hackney Diamonds, Mick said: “This won’t be the last album. We are two thirds through the next one.”
Hackney Diamonds will drop on October 20, with Mick, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood teaming up with producer Andrew Watt to produce the album, with star turns from Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder.
One person was missing, however, after the band’s drummer Charlie Watts died in 2021.
Talking about missing Charlie, whose drumming appears on two songs for the album, Mick said: “It is very difficult to lose friends.

“As you get older you lose a lot of friends.
“A lot of people of your generation have all gone, which is why I have got a lot of friends who are not in my age group.
“It is a big loss when someone you have worked with for 60 years, or have worked with, has gone. It is a huge loss. I don’t know if it is scary, it is very sad. You think about your own mortality.” As well as teaming up with Gaga and Stevie for the album, the group put to bed their old rivalry with The Beatles and pulled in Paul McCartney to play guitar.
But Mick has admitted the collaboration happened by accident. Appearing on Canadian podcast Q with Tom Power, he said: “Paul was in LA when we were recording and he was supposed to work with Andy one week.
“Andy had said, ‘I am working on this record and I will be on it for six months if I do nothing else.”
“Andy said, ‘Why don’t we get Paul to come in?’. We suggested he played on this tune and he really rocked it. We were all in a room together.
“It seemed so natural and Paul was so relaxed and he enjoyed it. John [Lennon] was a close friend of mine and he was so acerbic.
“Paul is a different kind of personality. We don’t see each other that much but we do text.”
Nick’s break from the Norma
SHE’S in the UK for her new West End stage show Sunset Boulevard.
But Nicole Scherzinger took time out of her busy schedule to join celebrity pals for MAC Cosmetics’ The Face Show at Outernet on Tottenham Court Road in London.

Nicole wore a Fendi crop top and skirt to the bash before heading back to rehearsals for her musical, which will open at the Savoy Theatre on Thursday.
She takes on the role of fictional actress Norma Desmond in the show.
OPPENHEIMER has overtaken Bohemian Rhapsody to become the biggest money-spinning biopic ever made.
Christopher Nolan’s film has raked in £736million at the box office since being released in July.
It beats the previous record of £734million set in 2018 after Rami Malek’s Oscar-winning turn as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. The movie stars Cillian Murphy as American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who led the Manhattan Project to create the first nuclear weapon during World War Two.

Oppenheimer is also the third most successful film this year after Margot Robbie’s Barbie, and The Super Mario Bros Movie – which both pulled in more than £1billion in ticket sales.
Purple reigns for his home crowd
AFTER a busy year playing some of the world’s biggest festivals, DJ Purple Disco Machine finally went home to Germany.
And he immediately invited us to his sold-out gig in Dresden.

Dressed in his signature purple jacket, the DJ, who made his name remixing tunes by Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga was joined on stage by dancers and his collaborators.
It was an electric set of dancefloor bangers that had the thousands of fans who were lucky enough to be there dancing the night away on Friday. He performed some of his biggest hits, including a remix of Lizzo’s About Damn Time that he won a Grammy for earlier this year.
The show closed with Something On My Mind, his new tune with Duke Dumont and English rockers Nothing But Thieves, as neon strobe lights and pink confetti lit up the night sky.
He said after the show: “What a night, still in absolute awe. Many thanks to all who celebrated with us and made this wonderful event possible.”
He’s back on the road, already touring the US and is hard at work on a new album.
I look forward to seeing him back in the UK . . . and you should too.
TAKE THAT have given fans a sneak preview of new music ahead of their big comeback on Friday.
Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald yesterday shared a snippet of the single they are making their return with.

And it’s a song all about . . .windows.
It is the first new material since their 2017 record Wonderland.
The trio are heard singing: “You opened up, yeah you opened up my windows.” But it is a catchy track with Gary’s trademark vocals sounding slicker than ever.
A promotional snap of the lads, above, shows them reclining on a rooftop in New York at Manhattan real estate giants Buchbinder & Warren.
Given Gary opened his own property business earlier this year, I wonder if he is trying to tell us something.
Batteries powering Coldplay
COLDPLAY have started powering all their shows with car batteries.
The band, fronted by Chris Martin, are in the middle of their Music Of The Spheres world tour, which has been groundbreaking thanks to the group’s devotion to making shows eco-friendly.
Drummer Will Champion said: “We’re running shows completely from a battery now, so we’re not using any outside power. They’re re-purposed BMW car batteries. It’s something that’s not been done before.”

On BMW’s Play Next podcast with Edith Bowman, Will added: “The power is recharged using a range of renewable sources including solar installations, a kinetic stadium floor and power bikes, that harness the collective power of the fans themselves.”
I hopped on a bike at a gig this year and it was a laugh.
