The last six months of The Notorious B.I.G.‘s life was filled with many highs and lows, from a near-fatal car accident and the death of his onetime friend Tupac Shakur to the impending release of his highly-anticipated sophomore album Life After Death. The rapper died in the early morning hours of March 9, 1997 in Los Angeles after attending the Soul Train Music Awards the night of March 7.
