SALSA music blares as I sip on my ice-cold caipirinha and before I know it, I am being shoulder-shimmying to the floor with a dancer in a tiny feathered bikini.
No, I haven’t jetted off to Brazil for a one-night-only party – I’m just off of London’s Bloomsbury Square at The London Cabaret Club.

The underground theatre space has been transformed just in time for summer into a Rio De Janeiro inspired carnival for their latest show, Copacabana.
Taking Barry Manilow’s “music and passion is always the fashion” to heart, the impressive showcase includes dancers, singers, acrobats and a live Latin band that would suit the stage of its New York club namesake.
A three-course Brazil-inspired dinner, including a mango and salmon starter, Argentinian chimichurri beef and a tres de leche cake, rolls out alongside the entertainment.
The London Cabaret club have merged the best bits of Britain’s Got Talent and Strictly Come Dancing in their latest offering.

You’re transported from Rio Di Janiero to New York, and then to Copbacabana itself alongside ‘Lola The Showgirl’.
It all kicks off with a sparkling group number with female dancers dressed in feathered and bejewelled Carnival costumes and six-pack brandishing partners.
If you’re prudish, or likely to turn red-in-the-face at the sight of a perky behind, this show is not for you as there’s plenty on show.
In their sparkling – and tiny – outfits that quickly change between dances, the group turn up the heat with salsa, meringue and samba in back to back performances.

It’s all brought together with live vocals from a singer that could easily be mistaken for Michael Buble and a series of equally talented performers.
The multi-cultural cast means there’s even a perfect performance with Portuguese lyrics from Astrud Gilberto’s version of The Girl From Ipanema in an intimate duet on a spinning stage.
In the break, as more food is served, a second singer serenades alongside a two-piece Latin band.
But before long, you will be shimmying your body to the music and waving your napkins around in the air as the dancers’ infectious party spirit fills the room again.
Each dance is sound tracked by a live sing-along musical hits — from Carmen Miranda’s Let’s Do The Copacabana to Pete Rodriguez’s I Like It Like That and Gloria Estefan’s Conga.
As you catch your breath between performances, acrobats — including Britain’s Got Talent and Duo Odyssey star Max — suspend themselves from ropes suspended from the ceiling.
While another moment sees one perform on a gravity-defying hoop, the pair join together for a third mins-boggling and mostly upside-down routine.
It doesn’t just end when the dancers stop, either – if you’ve still got more party in you, a DJ takes over post show to allow guests to show off their best moves.

If you want to be dazzled and wowed – and get into the party spirit, it’s not to be missed.
