Thanks, I Hate It
‘The Golden Bachelor’ season 2 hasn’t been officially been greenlit, but the production team has already nailed down the show’s filming dates.
Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette might have just ended, but ABC has its sights set on what comes next. Assuming the network and production company follow the same standard format, fans will see one of Joan’s contestants lead season 2 of The Golden Bachelor. While plenty of talk already exists about who could be the next golden bachelor, viewers will have to wait a while to see their love journey. Filming dates for season 2 of The Golden Bachelor appear to be set. It will be happening in the summer of 2025.
‘The Golden Bachelor’ casting call suggests filming will begin in June 2025
While Bachelor Nation fans just watched Joan Vassos find love with Chock Chapple on season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette, network executives are busy setting up the next show. Casting for the Golden Shows is underway, and one of the questions on the application gives away exactly when the season will begin filming.
Bachelor Nation fans can easily navigate to a casting call looking for senior singles, but if they are busy during the summer of 2025, they are probably out of the running. One question asks if potential contestants have any commitments between June 2025 and August 2025. An additional question asks if potential contestants have a valid passport through August 2025.
The questions indicate that filming will begin in June and will likely wrap up with a foreign overnight getaway in August. The dates are not a huge surprise. The timeline follows the same filming schedule as Vassos’ season. Vassos began filming her season in late June 2024. She wrapped up her experience in Tahiti for her fantasy suite dates in August.
When can fans expect to learn who will be the next golden bachelor?
ABC might be casting for the upcoming season, but it doesn’t appear they’ve picked the next golden bachelor yet. At the very least, they haven’t announced the season lead yet. That announcement could come at any time. Still, if ABC opts to follow a similar timeline to Joan’s season yet again, it could be months before fans learn who is tapped to lead the next season.
Joan Vassos’ was announced as the first-ever golden bachelorette in May 2024. The announcement came after months of speculation and was a bit of a surprise. Fans largely expected Leslie Fhima to take on the lead. Fhima, Gerry Turner’s runner-up, was a fan favorite and expressed interest in appearing in the role. Vassos, who left early in the season, wasn’t a frontrunner initially. Still, her name was mentioned during early conversations about potential leads.
