Thanks, I Hate It

Nathan Griffith could spend years in prison for assault after he failed to comply with a court-ordered program. He is currently in jail.

Jenelle Evans’ ex-fiancé, Nathan Griffith, is experiencing serious legal problems. The former Teen Mom 2 cast member faces at least a year behind bars. Griffith has had several significant run-ins with the law but has mostly avoided jail time. After his 2023 arrest for assault, it looked like he would avoid a lengthy prison stint again. That doesn’t seem to be the case any longer. His failure to abide by the judge’s orders has kicked his case out of a special court designed for veterans and back into a more traditional setting. In the more mainstream legal setting, Nathan Griffith’s legal troubles are significant and could end in a very lengthy prison term.

Nathan Griffith could find himself behind bars for years

Nathan Griffith’s legal troubles are mounting. The Ashley Reality Roundup Group obtained court documents for the troubled former reality star. His inability to adhere to a court-ordered program could have dire consequences. According to the documents, Nevada’s Veterans Treatment Court program booted Griffith after he failed to follow its rules.

It is unclear what guidelines he failed to adhere to, but Griffith signed off on a lengthy list of requirements when his case was transferred to Veterans Court. He was asked to comply with a set curfew and provide a probation officer with his phone password. Griffith was also expected to abstain from drugs and alcohol and adhere to all rules of his sober living facility.

Police pulled him in in June for failing to adhere to the court program. He has been behind bars ever since. Now, he will face formal sentencing through the district court. His charge, attempted battery by strangulation, could land him in a Nevada prison for anywhere from one year to four years, depending on several factors. Griffith is due back in court at the end of July. The initial charge stems from a 2023 incident involving his sister. It was not the first time Griffith was accused of attempting to strangle someone.

When was Nathan Griffith arrested?

Nathan Griffith’s current legal troubles stem from a July 2023 arrest. Griffith, who has lived in several states since splitting from Jenelle Evans, was staying with his sister in Nevada when an alleged argument broke out. Griffith reportedly strangled his sibling before leaving the house.

Police were called and arrested the 36-year-old veteran. Griffith eventually pled guilty to a strangulation charge. He had been arrested in February 2023 for a domestic violence incident that also involved strangulation. That arrest occurred in Florida. There are no further details on that arrest that is available.

Griffith has one child with Jenelle Evans. He admitted he had not seen Kaiser Griffith in years in a statement he issued during Evans’ recent child protective services case. The case has since been closed.
