Some of Taylor Swift’s fans can’t get enough of her music or her style. The 35-year-old singer has been in the public eye for years, meaning that fans have watched her fashion choices evolve from her teenage years into adulthood. Though Swift is not the most-followed celebrity on TikTok, she currently has the most fashion-related hashtags of all stars on the social media platforms.

A recent study by Kaiia looked into celebrity style on TikTok in order to find the stars with the most copied style. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the size of her fan base, Swift sits at the top of the list.
Swift is not among the most followed people on the app; she doesn’t even crack the top 50 like her friend, Selena Gomez. Still, her following of 32.4 million is nothing to scoff at. She has 22.4K fashion-related hashtags. The runner-up, Kendall Jenner, has 16.6K.
Kaiia found that Swift’s “many eras, from early girl-next-door to vintage glam” offer fans many different styles to mimic in their own wardrobes.
Taylor Swift’s fans don’t always agree with her style choices
Though many people are looking to emulate Swift’s style, a number of others, including her own fans, have insulted many of her choices.
“I just feel like she’s always soooo close to looking amazing yet somehow always misses,” wrote one Reddit user, adding, “She just either does too much or too little all the time.”
Some believed the problem was not necessarily with Swift’s clothes. They didn’t believe she looked comfortable in them.
“I don’t think her style is bad necessarily,” wrote one person, adding, “She just cannot put that thing on. She just has 0 swagger. She has her glimpses but she’s just awkward & also seems aimless when it comes to fashion.”
Most of these people were her fans and hoped to see Swift make some more fashionable choices.
“I was at Night 1 of the Eras tour, grew up loving Taylor (still do) but her fashion is often awful,” wrote one person. “Sometimes it sucks entirely, sometimes the fit is off, sometimes it is the shoes/accessories that throw it off. It rarely looks effortless. She also isn’t dressed for the occasion/location AT ALL. She needs a new hair style, and needs to leave the red lip behind.”
Another person said that Swift’s style was notably weak for someone with the money and resources to dress well.
“She is notably badly dressed for a celebrity, which is uncommon.. And a waste with that height too,” they wrote. “Somehow she gives dorky energy? Like a person who never became comfortable with themselves as an adult … Also her style is really dated!”
She has worked with stylist Joseph Cassell for years
Swift has worked with her stylist, Joseph Cassell, for over a decade. They first met on what was supposed to be a one-time job for Cassell.
“I was asked to do a basic ‘steam and press’ job for a young, rising country singer,” he told The Hollywood Reporter (per Music Row).
Swift said his professionalism impressed her, and they have worked together since.
“Joseph arrived with a full wardrobe of options and shoes, which was a good thing because the stylist at the shoot had dropped the ball,” she said. “He’s always two steps ahead of me with whatever I need, whether it’s a lint roller, sunglasses, shoes. And he has a backup option and extra panels of material just to be safe!”
