The battle of the exes is over.
Former Flip or Flop stars Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa faced off in the ultimate flipping challenge in their new HGTV series The Flip Off. The competition show challenged the former husband and wife to pull off the biggest and most impressive flip of their lives. Each would buy and renovate a home in Southern California, then try to sell it. Whoever earned the greatest return on their initial investment would be declared the winner. The results of the competition were revealed in the show’s March 5 season finale.

Christina faced off against Tarek and Heather in ‘The Flip Off’
Originally, Christina and her then-husband Josh Hall were going to face off against Tarek and his second wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. But shortly after the competition began, Christina’s marriage to Josh fell apart, leaving her to manage her flip on her own, with help from some friends and loyal contractors.
Christina bought her house, a four-bedroom, two-bath in Carson, for a little over $600,000. The property was a hoarder house that had seen better days, but she was hopeful she could transform it into a family home that would bring top dollar in an up-and-coming neighborhood.
Tarek and Heather spent just over $700,000 on a three-bedroom, two-bath in Long Beach. The house had some serious cons (it was located right under a flight path), but they were confident a high-end renovation could net them enough profit to win the competition.
Tarek and Heather won ‘The Flip Off’

Right from the start, Tarek and Heather had an edge in the competition. They won the first challenge thanks to their impressive kitchen remodel. Ultimately, they came out ahead in four of the six challenges. Those victories gave them extra money to spend on their costly design, while Christina battled her home’s awkward footprint and a tight budget in her effort to come out on top.
In the end, both teams pulled off gorgeous overhauls of their properties. But there could be only one winner, and in the end, Tarek and Heather’s bold decision to pull out all the stops on their luxurious renovation paid off. Jeff Lewis of Flipping Off was called in to calculate the final ROI on both properties, and they were the clear winners.
Christina bought her house for $605,000 and spent $303,000 to flip it. It sold it for $1.125 million, netting her a profit of $217,000 and an ROI of 24%. Tarek and Heather bought their house for $710,000 and spent $409,000 on their flip. It sold it for $1.55 million, netting them a profit of $431,000 and a ROI of 39%.
“Oh it feels good to be a champion,” Tarek said after his and Heather were revealed as the winner.
“I’m definitely bummed that I lost,” Christina said. “This has been a very difficult past few months … I am proud that I finished this without a partner and made a really great profit.”
She also said that she was ready for round 2.
“I absolutely want a rematch,” she said. “I want revenge and I will win the next round.”
