TalkSPORT scores record breaking numbers as Virgin Radio, Times Radio and Talk reach more fans than ever

TALKSPORT, the world’s largest sports radio network, has scored record breaking numbers across its entire schedule.

From Alan Brazil on Breakfast into White & Jordan and throughout the day, talkSPORT celebrated listening hours of 24m, up 10.2% year on year with 3.7m listeners, according to new Rajar figures.

Chris Evans and Ryan Tubridy led the charge at Virgin Radio, with 2.2 million listeners reached with 11m listening hours across the network.

Talk continued to build on its watching and listening hours with 6.8m, after celebrating its one million YouTube subscribers last month.

Listeners to Times Radio tuned in for longer than ever too, with the network recording 8.9m hours on average.

The record-breaking numbers saw News Broadcasting’s stations recording their best ever listening hours across the board, as well as being named the UK’s most digital broadcaster.

Former RTE star Ryan is the network’s latest big-name signing, and it’s certainly paid off.

He’s settled into London since moving over last December for his new Virgin Radio UK show.

Ryan bid farewell to Ireland a year ago as he signed off from The Late Late Show after 14 years.

The Dublin native recently reflected on the past year of his life.

He wrote in his Irish Mail on Sunday column: “I hit 51 on Tuesday and found myself reflecting on an erratic year that was strewn with curveballs and kindness. I learnt an awful lot in an awful way.”

He added: “The Christmas card list was shortened, for sure, but there were countless positives. The London experience has exceeded all my expectations and I’ve made a heap of new friends and colleagues along the way both on Virgin Radio and in Ireland with Q102 and associated stations around the country.”

Listeners can usually catch TFI Fridays legend Chris from 6.30am to 10am on Virgin Radio.

But last week, they were treated to DJ Nick Grimshaw, who left his drive time slot with BBC Radio 1 back in 2021.
