These days Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) live more than 5,000 miles away, don’t speak to each other at all, and live lives that couldn’t be more different. But the princess and duchess weren’t always so different. They shared an experience few people will ever understand when they married real-life princes and became royalty themselves.
Fans around the world thought the two women would hit really it off. They were close in age, well-educated, and seemed like naturals navigating the world stage as representatives of Britain’s most famous family. But we now know that the ladies never bonded and problems continued to brew behind Palace walls until Harry and Meghan announced their departure.
Now a video is going viral that highlights how things have turned out for Kate and Meghan, and fans of both women are weighing in.
Meghan has a cooking show
Meghan and her husband had a few missteps and public embarrassments when they left the U.K. and moved to the U.S. The biggest thing was the hit their popularity took after they trashed the royal family several times. That said, they did sign a mega-deal with Netflix in which they received millions to produce content. The pair had success with a docuseries about being members of the Firm but their other productions were flops.
Now, the duchess has her own show titled With Love, Meghan that she hopes will capture a large audience interested in seeing her creations.
According to the show’s description, the “inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old. Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.
“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”
Video shows what Kate has that Meghan doesn’t
Kate meanwhile is living on the other side of the Pond with her husband, Prince William, and coming off a tough year after learning she had cancer and needed to undergo chemotherapy. However, in September, the princess shared an update that she finished her treatments and is now “cancer-free.”
We know Kate won’t be doing a cooking or gardening show in the future like Meghan but she does have something her sister-in-law never will as pointed out in a video making the rounds on TikTok.
The 28-second clip begins with footage from With Love, Meghan and the text: “She has a lifestyle show on Netflix.” It isn’t until 13 seconds in that Kate is shown and viewers see the text associated with her which reads: “She has a Kingdom.”
The video was posted on Jan. 2, 2025, and within its first 24 hours already had hundreds of thousands of views with over 30,000 likes and more than 600 comments.
