WITH over 20 years of experience on the scene, Break has become one of the most prolific producers in the Drum and Bass world and beyond with his success earning him Beatport’s best-selling DnB artist title two years in a row for 2022 and 2021.
Break has just released his 5th solo album, Digital World on his own label Esteemed Recordings. Paying homage to his roots in this new project, Digital World’s title was influenced by a lyric “got soul in a digital world” from DeRobert’s track he also sampled, relating to this sentiment and summing up the ethos behind the whole album.

Break has taken some time out from his residency at London’s XOYO club to compile a playlist of his current favourites to mark the release of Digital World. Listen and read what he had to say about the music below.
Calyx – Tempest
One of the biggest tune’s I’ve been playing over the last two years. Calyx returning to his solo releases with a bang. This one has destroyed many clubs!
Level 2 – Bite The Bone
I love Level 2’s production, it’s really smooth and classic sounding but with a modern twist. This tune is a good DJ tool but also a great standalone track in its own right.
The Sauce – BST Vibes
I play a lot of tracks by The Sauce, but this is one of my favs for a while. It flies the flag for the classic Bristol style and sounds so clean and weighty on a sound-system.
Watch The Ride – Time’s UpAnother classic Bristol flavour on this one. A great tune to play as a DJ, but as a listener the slightly unexpected old-skool breakdown halfway through is a lovely surprise.
DLR – 1234
From his latest online Dubpack, DLR’s renowned production skills shine through on this one. The catchy Hip-Hop vocal sample makes this one stand out. The drums and bass are funky and tough too.

VIDEO TO COME
Break feat. MC Fats – Natural Way
A huge tune in 2022 and first single from my ‘Digital World’ album, MC Fats proved once again why he set the benchmark of DnB vocalists. His unique style, lyrics and tone made this track an instant classic. It was such an honour to work with him. R.I.P. Mr Fats.
Noisia – Diplodocus (Skepitcal Remix)
One of Noisia’s stand out tunes from back in the day, skilfully reworked by don producer Skeptical. His minimal and funky reworking of this track show’s why he’s a first choice for this kind of remix.
Breakage – Untitled Dubplate
No-one drops this level of authentic Junglist pressure quite like Breakage. The first track from his Breakage At The Control’s Vol2 ticks all the boxes for me. Sick reggae vocal, flawless drum and bass production with skilful dub FX work.
DSP – Trunk Full Of JungleIt takes guts these days to release a tune with such minimal production and huge sub bass in a climate where most music is really in your face, bright and loud. DSP has come with true drum and bass on this release, and I wish there were more tracks like this.
T>I feat. Madrush MC – Sketchy
T>I has been killing it recently with his output and this track is one of my recent favourites. It’s got a murky and moody vibe which is complemented perfectly by Madrush’s voice and delivery. A wicked modern jungle style on this one.
