Shane was rushed into hospital last Monday and has been there since.

The singer was today snapped wearing a fluffy hat and sunglasses as he prepared to head home.

His wife said: “Shane is home and we are going to watch the football!

“Thank you everyone who has been messaging and blessings to everyone who has a loved one in hospital and who is in hospital themselves and blessings to the doctors and nurses!”

Shane’s fans flocked to the comment section, all saying the same thing.

Sarah said: “Best wishes to you both, hope Shane is doing better and great to see him home.”

Daniel said: “Great news, Victoria. Sending positive thoughts from Australia and wishing you a speedy recovery, Shane.”

Dolores said: “Am glad to read this!! Enjoy!!”

Sadhbh added: “Stay well Shane, we love you.”

The Tipperary rocker has been confined to a wheelchair since shattering his pelvis in a horror fall several years ago.

MacGowan fell and broke his pelvis in 2016 and later fell and broke his knee and then ended up tearing ligaments in his left knee, injuries from which he has never fully recovered.

Victoria revealed the star was back in the hospital last week but didn’t say what caused the hospital dash, only stating that she was “really hoping to get out asap”.

Taking to Instagram, she had shared the frustration she felt during this tough time.

She shared a sweet picture of herself and Shane smiling together and said: “It’s not so much of a challenge to stay positive and connected with your angels when life is going well and things are fun but when the s*** hits the fan and you are challenged by illness or anything that disrupts your ease it’s not going to be smooth sailing!

“Shane is in hospital now and I have been feeling the full range of feelings including desperate and hopeless and overwhelmed and anxious, and everything else that a human feels.

“But even if we collapse in a heap and cry our eyes out – there is always a part of us that knows that everything is going to work out and be ok.

“That everything that we experience is somehow contributing to our expansion and growth if we can trust and surrender and stay open to the possibility that we are moving forward in the direction of our hearts desires, even when things look bleak!”

She added: “I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has been sending messages of encouragement and prayers for Shane.

“I am tuning in to the angels as often as I can and taking each moment as it comes.
