Sean “Diddy” Combs has never been married, but he said that if he were to wed, he would want a relationship like Jay-Z and Beyoncé. He was friends with Jay-Z for years, and he said he admired his marriage to Beyoncé. Combs felt about what he wanted out of a marriage.

Though Combs has been in several well-documented relationships, he has never married. When asked what he would look for in a marriage if he were to tie the knot, he said he hoped for a relationship like the one Jay-Z and Beyoncé have. He added that Beyoncé has many of the qualities he looks for in a partner.
“I’d love to have what Jay and Beyoncé have,” he told the Daily Mirror (via Express). “My ideal woman has to have intellect and soul. I don’t woo them with flowers, I need to know they like me for real.”
He shared why he didn’t marry longtime girlfriend Kim Porter
Combs had a longtime relationship with Kim Porter. The couple broke up in the late 1990s because of his infidelity, but they reunited after several years apart. He admitted he had been selfish when he cheated on her.
“When you’re in a relationship, there’s a lot of give-and-take,” he told Essence in 2006. “Before I was just selfish.”
While Combs claimed he was fully committed to Porter (they ultimately broke up again because of his infidelity), he said he was not ready for marriage. According to him, he wanted to wait to become a better boyfriend before he took the next step.
“I know she deserves to get married but I’m just not ready,” he said. “It’s not a reflection on how much I love Kim. It’s that I’m just learning how to be a good boyfriend. When I’m finished with this step, I’ll move on to the next.”
When Porter left the relationship, she said his unwillingness to marry her had no bearing on her decision.
“Do you know how many rings I have?” she joked in another Essence interview. “I don’t even have enough fingers (laughing). That’s not why I left.”
Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs have both been named in a recent lawsuit
This month, an anonymous plaintiff alleged in a lawsuit that Combs and Jay-Z raped her when she was 13 years old. Representatives for both men have denied the allegations. Beyoncé reportedly feels devastated by the allegations. A source told the Daily Mail that she has “spent the last few days crying” and leaning heavily on Michelle Williams.
“She has always been Beyoncé’s most spiritual friend, and she helped her get through the Beyoncé-hate train in the early 2000s when LeToya and LaTavia left the group,” the source said. “Michelle was one of the first people Bey confided in and they have been speaking every evening when Michelle has time away from her Broadway show.”
