Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Might Be Too ‘Paranoid’ and ‘Scared’ to Eat in Prison, Former Inmate Says

Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is now staying at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after his arrest. Combs pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Now that he’s in jail, he reportedly might be too “paranoid” and “scared” to eat, according to a former inmate.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs might fear getting his food poisoned in prison, a former inmate says

Larry Levine, a former inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, told NewsNation that Sean “Diddy” Combs might not eat in jail. According to Levine, Combs might feel too “paranoid” and “scared” that others poisoned his food.

“There’s people out there that he has things on that do have a substantial amount of money,” Levine said. “Imagine if someone paid someone off on the inside to actually poison his food, give him a heart attack and he dies, and no one would really think anything of it. So that may be one of the reasons he’s not eating.”

Levine also noted that much of the MDC’s food contains mold. Combs might be feeling sick from the offerings. “It’s not coming to him warm like it would be in a regular housing unit, because they feed the people in the SHU last,” Levine added. “Maybe he got sick from the food.”

Combs currently resides in a special housing unit, giving him an extra layer of security. The media mogul is also on suicide watch, which is typical protocol for high-profile inmates.

What food does the Metropolitan Detention Center serve?

Sean “Diddy” Combs doesn’t have gourmet food options at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. The Federal Bureau of Prisons national menu in 2024 outlines his options.

Combs can typically have fruit, hot grits or oatmeal, whole wheat bread with jelly, skim milk, and coffee for breakfast. Pancakes and French toast are occasionally served.

For lunch, Combs can have scrambled eggs, chicken wraps, chicken patty sandwiches, hamburgers or black bean burgers, baked chicken or fish, or beef tacos, depending on the day. Sides include cole slaw, beans, steamed rice, baked potato, green beans, garlic macaroni, and corn.

Possible dinner options include roast beef with mashed potatoes and green beans, turkey roast with steamed rice and peas, and Salisbury steak with corn and potatoes. He can also have black bean soup, chicken fajitas, pasta with marina sauce and meatballs, and vegetable soup.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is ‘getting treatment and therapy,’ according to his lawyer

Sean “Diddy” Combs might be facing 15 years to life in prison if convicted of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs is in “treatment and therapy for things that most respectfully he needs treatment and therapy for, and he’s getting that,” according to People.

“Mr. Combs is not a perfect person,” Agnifilo said at Combs’ arraignment hearing on Sept. 17, 2024. “There’s been drug use, there’s been toxic relationships — which I think were mutual in their toxicity as these things often are.” Agnifilo said others should applaud Combs for seeking help “at the ripe age of 54.”

Two judges denied Combs bail in September 2024, planting him at the Metropolitan Detention Center until his trial. His legal team argued that Combs shouldn’t have to live in the horrific conditions present at the MDC. This did not sway the judges.
