Sara Beth Liebe ‘not even mad’ about Katy Perry’s ‘American Idol’ mom-shaming

“American Idol” contestant Sara Beth Liebe now says she is “not even mad” about Katy Perry’s mom-shaming — despite quitting the singing competition series.

“If you watch my videos, you’d know that I’m not even mad. I’m just trying to do music,” the 25-year-old said in a video on her Instagram Story Tuesday.

Liebe said her decision to quit the ABC show was “not a ploy” and that she was not using it for “15 minutes of fame or whatever the hell everyone is saying.”

“I’m so over it,” she added. “No more.”

Despite being “over it,” the mom of three continued to post on her Story about how it was “a bit lame” that “Idol” allegedly edited out multiple “standing ovations” that she had received during a performance.

Liebe’s saga began when she informed the show’s judges, Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, about her age and the amount of kids she has during her audition.

While all three judges looked surprised, the “I Kissed a Girl” songstress — who shares daughter Daisy, 2, with fiancé Orlando Bloom — stood up as Bryan began fanning her.

“If Katy lays on the table, I think I’m going to pass out,” Liebe said, to which Perry, 38, replied, “Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much.”

The comment sparked backlash on social media and prompted Liebe to speak out on her TikTok.

“It was embarrassing to have that on TV, and it was hurtful,” she said. “I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool, and I think that mom-shaming is super lame, and I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom, and it’s hard enough to be a woman.”

Weeks later, Liebe told the judges that she’d be leaving “American Idol” to be with her kids.

“This opportunity is really rad, but this is actually gonna be my last performance ’cause my heart’s at home,” she said after her Hollywood Week performance of The Police’s “Roxanne.”

“So I’m gonna get home to my babies. They kinda need me. So thank you,” she added before rushing off the stage.

The judges, including Perry, encouraged her to stay so she would not miss out on rising to her “fullest potential,” but Liebe departed anyway.

“I’m sure that when I get home, I’ll regret it,” the hopeful musician admitted to the camera.

“American Idol” airs Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
