Caroline Rhea, 59 has now left behind the world of acting for a shot at comedy stand up.

The star is now a comedian and is performing at the famous Edinburgh Fringe, this year.

She announced the exciting news on her Instagram, with the caption: “I know this is last minute but everything in my life is. Im very excited to be returning to the MotherLand. I asked my friend how the weather is and she said, It’s raining like f**k but hopefully that’s going to change.

Her stand up show is called, Caroline Rhea: I Identify as a Witch.

The description on the official Edinburgh Fringe website reads: “Hi, it’s me, Caroline Rhea. I’m thrilled to return to Scotland, my part-time childhood home, and not just because it’s the only place you can get tablet and no salad. Yes, you know me as Aunt Hilda on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and I’ve been a stand-up comedian for 34 years.”

“I’m here to do my new show, I Identify as a Witch, because at this point I seriously do, so does my 14-year-old daughter. My new show covers everything from parenting a teenager to dating (it’s super fun).”

A fourth penned: “Would love to watch you.”

Sabrina The Teenage Witche’s first episode T.G.I.F. – Thank God It’s Friday – aired 25 years ago today and drew in more than 17 million viewers on ABC.

After it premiered on September 27, fans were treated to a whirlwind of love triangles, magic spells gone wrong and snarky comments from Salem, The Cat.

From heartbreak to hilarity, Sabrina fans experienced a range of emotions until the show ended on April 24, 2003.

There were several spin-offs – including four-part Netflix reboot Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina – but the shows failed to cast a spell over audiences and have been scrapped.

Caroline has more than 47 acting credits to her name but her most famous role was as kooky aunt, Hilda Spellman.

The actress was recovering from a “bad relationship” when she signed up for the show and claims she agreed after hearing one thing about her character.

Caroline recalled: “She said, ‘She’s a witch… and she’s recently imprisoned a man that didn’t love her in her ring.’

“I was like, I’ll do it because I really thought it was like a documentary.”

Prior to that, she tickled audiences with her comedic talent including once when she branded young men on rollerblades “meals on wheels”.

After Sabrina, Caroline went onto other teen shows including The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody but in 2008 decided to pursue a better work-life balance.

She gave birth to “miracle baby” Ava after difficulties trying to conceive and for a while “didn’t go on the road at all” so she could bond with her daughter.
