EVERY famous man and his dog seems to fancy becoming a major player in football clubs now.
The latest is Robbie Williams, who is keen to follow in the footsteps of Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and American Football legend Tom Brady, who sunk cash into Birmingham City.
The Angels singer has revealed he wants to invest in his home town club Port Vale, in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent after seeing the impact Ryan and Rob had when they bought Wrexham in November 2020.
Robbie said in the US: “The Ryan Reynolds thing is intoxicating. It’s a beautiful story. It’s fascinating. It’s a fairytale. I’d like to be involved in something like that. My big love in football is Port Vale, a very small team in the UK, so somewhere down the line I’ll have something to do with it.”
Footie-mad Robbie built a pitch at his LA home and created his own team named after League One outfit The Valiants, Los Angeles Vale FC, made up of celeb pals and expats.
Young Rob, who also helped mastermind charity fundraiser Soccer Aid, was a defender like Vale’s Tom Sang, but said his future lay elsewhere.
Robbie, inset, said: “I was a left back. I was never good enough to be a pro but there was a longing to be something.
“But since middle age I know I’ve got the best job in the world. I’ve done Milan’s San Siro stadium where they’re all looking at me and every song I sing, I’m scoring a goal.”

During Sunday’s show the singer didn’t speak about the heartbreaking incident but appeared to pay tribute by performing her song Bigger Than The Whole Sky for the first time.
Taylor – who get soaked at the open-air stadium as the rain poured – sang: “Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye. You were bigger than the whole sky.
“I’ve got a lot to live without. I’m never gonna meet. What could’ve been, would’ve been. What should’ve been you.”
Student Ana’s father, Weiny Machado said: “I lost my only daughter, a happy and intelligent girl. She was about to graduate in psychology. I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfil a dream.”
THERE was no mistaking where Romeo Beckham and his model girlfriend Mia Regan got their fashion inspiration from on her big birthday night out.
They looked the spit of his parents David and Victoria in matching black leather in 1999, right, as they headed out in London’s posh Mayfair at the weekend to celebrate her 21st.
His parents have worn a lot of memorable looks over the years but this is one of their most famous, so I can’t imagine it was coincidental that Romeo and Mia decided to have a nod to it.
He is emulating his dad by covering his body in tattoos, too, including one dedicated to his girlfriend.
She shared a snap on Instagram of the ink on his forearm of the word “Mooch”, a reference to her nickname Mimi Moocher.

SUKI Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson have a baby on the way.
The British actress and singer confirmed the news while performing at a festival in Mexico on Sunday.
Gesturing at her bump while wearing a shiny dress, she told the crowd: “I’m extra sparkly today as I thought it might distract you from something else that’s going on.
“I’m not sure if it’s working.”
She has been dating fellow Brit, The Batman actor R-Patz, since 2018.
Despite their long romance, she recently revealed that she had only just moved in with him.
She said: “I’m very lucky because he’s so accepting of the mess and the chaos. He never says anything about it. He kind of thinks it’s like charming.”
THE magic of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett will be recreated in a new documentary.
The Lady And The Legend will premiere on December 13 on streaming service Paramount+.
It chronicles the Bad Romance singer’s decade-long friendship with the jazz icon, who passed away in July aged 96.
It will also show the making of their 2014 album Cheek To Cheek and 2021 follow-up Love For Sale, which reached No6.
