Rebel Wilson is reminding fans that weight loss isn’t always linear.
The “Pitch Perfect” star, who previously lost 80 pounds, revealed on Instagram Monday that she gained nearly half of the weight back due “stress” from her busy work schedule.
“Working really hard has meant that, coz of all the stress, I’ve gained 14kg’s (30 pounds)!” the 43-year-old captioned a photo of herself lounging in a hot tub.
“It makes me feel bad about myself…it shouldn’t…but it does,” she continued. “I’m really proud of the work I’ve been doing on new movies and my memoir, it’s just been a LOT and I’ve lost focus on my healthy lifestyle.”
Yet many of the actress’ 11 million followers could relate to her struggle and sent the “Cats” star words of encouragement.
“I feel the same,” one fan replied. “You are amazing, your doing incredible work, try not to be too hard on yourself 💕.”
“Oh gosh @rebelwilson we ALL do this, life gets in the way of focus and it happens,” another added. “What’s important is how you feel, and not the number on a scale.”
“Every. Single. Day,” a third chimed in. “Try to not focus on it. You are human. We stress. And right now life is stressful.”
Last month, Wilson revealed that she was “working 7 days a week” while writing her book, “Rebel Rising,” filming an action movie in Savannah and directing a film in Australia.
On top of that, she was also working on her “label-free” dating app, Fluid, and balancing life as a mom — she and fiancée Ramona Agruma welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy in November 2022.

Wilson told the Daily Mail in June that she gained weight after welcoming her daughter due to the major “change of lifestyle.”
“Now I can’t go to the gym as often as I used to; I’m just not working out as much, so that has slowed me down,” she explained, noting that she has also been dealing with a “lack of sleep.”
Wilson’s desire to become a mom heavily influenced her decision to lose weight in the first place after learning it was prohibiting her from having kids in 2019.
“I went to see a fertility doctor and he was like, ‘You’d have a much better chance with fertility if you were healthier,’” she recalled on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in February. “It really hit me hard because I was living a fantastic bigger life.”
Following the appointment, Wilson dedicated herself to a “year of health” and documented her physical transformation on social media.
By November 2020, the actress announced that she had reached her “goal weight with one month to spare.”
“Even though it’s not about a weight number, it’s about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75kg’s,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
She also revealed that the secret to her success was “a high-protein diet” and a six-day workout routine, which her trainer told us consisted of various 45-minute HIIT, mobility, and weights workouts.
