KATIE Price has made the decision to relocate up north for a fresh start and to be nearer to her friend of 20 years, Kerry Katona, it has emerged.
The 45-year-old has put her £2 million Sussex home, ‘mucky mansion’ on the market following a difficult year where she has struggled financially and has twice been declared bankrupt.

But money isn’t the only motivating factor, now that her ex-husband Peter Andre has recently welcomed his fifth child, sources suggest that the glamour model, who has lived at the property since 2014, is keen for a change of scene.
“Katie really wants out of Mucky Mansion, she calls it the ‘house of horrors’ because she has so many bad memories there. She feels like it’s haunted by exes – she hates it,” the source claims.
Indeed her close friend Kerry Katona who lives in Cheshire is said to have urged Katie to make a fresh start up north, where property is slightly cheaper.
“She’s keen to move up North because all her friends are there, Kerry has been telling her to have a fresh start ever since the Carl split, and Katie thinks being closer to her could be a good influence. She’s been spending a lot of time with the Geordie Shore cast recently and they’re all up that way too, so it makes sense.” The source told OK magazine.
Not only has the Sussex mansion fallen into disrepair but the model is said to feel that the house is haunted by the ghosts of her failed relationships.
Initially the mother- of-five first moved into the home with her ex-husband Kieran Hayler, but the couple split acrimoniously after Kieran was found to have been repeatedly unfaithful.
Then her ex-fiancé Carl Woods also resided at the home from 2020 until last year, when they parted company after tumultuous time together.
After going public with her new man, MAFS, JJ Slater, who at 31, is 14 years her junior. The couple are now hoping to make a fresh start up north, with sources saying that they are eyeing up a £750 property in West Yorkshire.
The source claims: “A new place would be like a clean slate for Katie, and she wants to bring JJ along too. They’re going really well and she wants to tie him down with a house and make new memories with him in it.”
Since the beginning of their relationship, the pair have appeared smitten and Katie has even suggested in interviews that they plan have a baby together, even though she already mum to Harvey, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke, Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, who she shares with ex-husband Peter and Jett, nine, and Bunny, eight, whose father is Kieran.
Indeed Katie is also said to be eager to put more distance between her and her Surrey-based ex Peter who recently welcomed his third child with wife Emily Macdonagh.
The source added: “The fact that Pete and Emily have just had a new baby makes her want to get further away even more.
“Katie thinks if she can get far enough away from Pete and from the bad memories, then everything will be fixed.”
Katie, who was once worth £45million, was declared bankrupt in 2019 and again last month, owing nearly £762,000 in unpaid tax.
The mum-of-five claims that her money troubles have been caused by her former flames.
Hopefully, if the move goes through, Katie will enjoy the friendly and down-to-earth vibe of the north.
