Katy Perry is seeking $6 million in damages from Kameron Westcott’s father-in-law, Carl Westcott.

Former Bravo personality Kameron Westcott is speaking out about her extended family’s long legal battle with Katy Perry. She says they “never, ever, ever even wanted to have to go to court” in the fight with the pop star over a multi-million dollar California mansion.

The saga began when the The Real Housewives of Dallas alum’s father-in-law, Carl Westcott, sold a $15 million Montecito home to Perry and her then-partner Orlando Bloom in 2020. But Westcott soon tried to back out of the deal. The founder of 1-800-Flowers sued Bernie Gudvi, who executed the deal as Perry’s business manager. Westcott claimed he was not capable of agreeing to the sale because of a recent surgery and a brain disorder.

A judge disagreed, and Perry eventually took possession of the home in May 2024. But the court fight wasn’t over. The “Firework” singer wants Westcott to pay for damages she says happened during the period between when she bought the house and when she received the keys. She wants $6 million for structural defects, deferred maintenance, and lost rental income. Part two of the trial is scheduled to begin on August 21. Perry is expected to testify.

‘Real Housewives of Dallas’ alum says Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have ‘no empathy’

Kameron, who appeared on seasons 2 to 5 of RHOD, is married to Westcott’s son Court. She recently told Fox News Digital that Court has had to step up to deal with the legal fight as his father’s health has declined due to Huntington’s disease and dementia.

“It’s extremely hard on everyone. My husband has to take care of everything now with his brother and my father-in-law can’t speak for himself at all because of his condition,” Kameron said. “And now the family has inherited this horrible situation, and it’s just so heartbreaking that we have to deal with this while my father-in-law is in memory care and bed, so we’re in this horrible lawsuit that’s been going on for five years.”

Kameron says she wishes Perry and Bloom would drop the issue and let her family move on.

“I don’t think they have empathy at all. I think this is all about material items for them,” she said of the former couple, who announced their breakup in July. “They have absolutely no empathy for other people, because if they did, they would try to settle and close this and move on, but they don’t have empathy for other people, and they don’t care about their elders.”

“It’s exhausting,” she added. “It’s like, just be done with this. Why do people do this? It’s just upsetting and disturbing to me. There’s so many more things in this world we could be doing with our money and time.”
