RAYE had already made Brits history before this Saturday’s awards bash, thanks to her record-breaking seven nominations last month.
And today the Escapism singer has an extra trophy in the bag after winning Songwriter Of The Year, meaning she could now take home an unprecedented EIGHT gongs on the night.

At last year’s ceremony Harry Styles equalled the record for wins, with victories in four categories thanks to his hit album Harry’s House, tying with Adele in 2016 and Blur in 1995, but Raye could easily trounce them both.
Bookie Coral has her at 2-1 to win five or more awards on Saturday and reckons she is 1-3 to be named Artist Of The Year.
But while she has been praised for her debut album My 21st Century Blues, the Brits came under fire for nominating Raye in the Best New Artist category because she has been around for donkey’s years.
Raye kicked off her latest UK tour last week and posed in this white shirt this week at a promo event for Dyson Zone headphones, for whom she is an ambassador.
Raye will find out her fate when the ceremony is broadcast live on ITV from London’s O2 Arena.
And despite my previous bad form when it comes to backing winners at the Grand National, I think Raye is a dead cert.
