RAGING Radio 1 fans have slammed the decision to suspend Arielle Free after insisting “she was right” in her on-air row with her co-host.
The Scottish DJ, 36, has been pulled off the air in wake of her explosive exchange with Charlie Hedges on Saturday.

But her admirers aren’t happy about the Beeb’s decision to stop her hosting her popular show throughout this week.
The pair came to verbal blows moments after Arielle joined Charlie’s Dance Anthems show live from the Ibiza Rocks hotel as a guest.
She shared her thoughts on the DJ’s song choice as Horsegirl and MCR-T’s club banger ‘My Barn My Rules’ played in the background.
Arielle said: “Can I be honest with you Charlie?… I expected better of you… I don’t like this song.”

But Charlie didn’t take too kindly to the criticism and promptly chucked her colleague off the broadcast.
“Oh really?,” Charlie replied. Arielle continued: “I hate it!”
Charlie then frustratedly butted in, saying in response: “Sorry I’m taking your mic down, it’s my show Arielle, have some respect please.
“See you later. Get out of here.”
Arielle was a guest on the show as part of a scheduled appearance, but has been taken off the air following the spat.
Although she was permitted to host Dance Anthems Ibiza with Sonny Fodera on Saturday evening, she is facing seven days on the sidelines.
Fans of the Radio 1 star took to social media to voice their anger while applauding her for expressing her honest opinion.
A number of users insisted Arielle was “in the right” and called for the BBC not to penalise her for simply sharing her thoughts on the song.
One said in a Twitter post: “Congratulations on speaking your mind love! I’ve just listened to it and YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

“It’s sh**e! Having the b***s to tell it like it is, well done.”
A second added: “You are 100% right about that Charlie Hedge song choice it is trash. That song has no place in Ibiza, utter rubbish.”
And a third chimed in: “Charlie needs to lighten up a bit.”
Others also branded the song “overplayed” and pointed out that DJs often disagree on each other’s musical direction.
Another said: “I’ve always wanted to know how the DJs feel about the songs they play when they say this is such a great song etc, when I’m sitting there like this is dog s***.
“So I don’t feel Arielle should be suspended for it at all!”
Arielle is expected to return to the station next week, as it was revealed she will only be replaced for next several days.
It means she will miss out on her usual Monday to Wednesday two-hour slot.
Host Sian Eleri, who will present Radio 1’s Future Artists, will step in for Arielle’s 8pm to 10pm show.
The official website states that the DJ is expected to return next week (7th Aug) with her Radio 1 Relax show, during her usual slot.
Meanwhile, Charlie is said to be disappointed at the situation having expected “more respect” and “support” from her co-host.
An insider told us: “It’s been the talk of the office.
“You could hear it in Charlie’s voice that she didn’t think having Arielle on was a good idea.”

A spokesperson for Radio 1 said: “Whilst we would not comment on individual matters, we have strict codes of behaviour for staff and presenters, and any breaches are taken extremely seriously.”
