Quincy Jones rushed to hospital after ‘medical emergency’

Quincy Jones was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency.

The multi-Grammy Award winner, 90, had a “bad reaction to some food he ate,” his rep told TMZ Sunday.

“Out of an abundance of caution he called 911 for help,” the spokesperson added.

Paramedics were called to Jones’ Los Angeles home and they transported him to the emergency room.

The music producer’s rep noted that he never lost consciousness and was in “great spirits” by the time he was given the all-clear by doctors.

Page Six has also reached out to Jones’ reps.

The famed composer has had his fair share of health issues through the years.

In 1974, he suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm that required two operations and left him with six steel pins in his head.

“I actually had two brain aneurysms,” Jones said in his 2018 documentary, “Quincy.”

“So I guess I would classify as having some experience with trauma to the brain. Also, my mother suffered from mental illness,” he continued.

“She was a brilliant woman who spoke several languages and had degrees from several colleges, but she had this condition that debilitated her, which today could’ve been controlled with medication. But at the time, during the Depression, they simply would commit you.”

His mother, Sarah Jones, was a schizophrenic who suffered with dementia and was taken away in a straight-jacket when he was seven.

When asked by Oprah what he learned from his previous struggles in life, Quincy responded, “The same thing the brain operation taught me: that you have to tell the people you care about how much you care about them.”

He added, “Just let it all out. I was so happy to be alive.”

The “Thriller” producer was last rushed to hospital in 2015 after he fell ill with chest pains and shortness of breath at his Bel Air home.

His rep told Page Six at the time, “Quincy is fine. He had some shortness of breath and in an abundance of caution he went in for observation. He is fine though.”
