Royal family

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been working hard to make themselves more relatable in recent years, and William just hinted at one of his favorite cooking shows.

The British royal family isn’t exactly known for being the world’s most ordinary family. The family doesn’t live anywhere near the same way commoners do, but when it comes to downtime and hobbies, it turns out Prince William and Kate Middleton might spend their evenings watching popular cooking shows the same way so many of us do.

During a recent royal engagement, William was applauded for his baking skills. And he called out one TV chef in particular for teaching him “everything” he knows.

Prince William said there is one baker who ‘taught’ him what he knows

William and Kate have been working hard to normalize themselves in the public eye. The two have been showing more affection, appearing more human in terms of how much time they spend with their kids, and doing their best to relate to Great Britain and the rest of the world. William and Kate occasionally let people in on what they do in their spare time, and they have said they enjoy ordering takeout, cooking meals with their children, and, as we know, they like to take the occasional family vacation.

During a recent royal engagement, William and Kate visited Wales and tried their hand at making Welsh cakes. The two made headlines for taking the subway, and at one point, people were pretty impressed with William’s baking skills.

“Mary Berry taught me everything I need to know,” the prince joked, according to Express. William and Kate have long been fans of the popular Great British Bake Off, and back in 2019, the Prince and Princess of Wales actually filmed a Christmas special with Mary Berry called “A Berry Royal Christmas.” Berry became popular in the US because of the baking show, but she is a well-renowned chef in the UK who has published dozens of cookbooks, too.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have proven they are foodies

William and Kate don’t disclose too much about their lives. The Prince and Princess of Wales prefer to keep their private lives as closed-off as possible, but they have let slip that they do enjoy cooking and ordering takeout. It seems that bonding over food is an essential part of their relationship and helps them grow as a couple; whenever they have a chance to cook during a royal engagement, they both seem to find great joy in doing so.

William and Kate appear to be back to their old selves after going through an incredibly difficult year in 2024. Kate was diagnosed with cancer and took most of the year to focus on her treatment and her health. Now, though, Kate has completed treatment, is cancer free, and it the public is happy to see that she and William are out enjoying themselves.
