Find out what a body language expert said about the Prince and Princess of Wales being in “their own little bubble” during Trooping the Colour.
Members of the royal family recently gathered for the Trooping the Colour event to King Charles‘ official birthday. Per tradition, the royals make an apperance on the Buckingham Palace balcony following the day’s festivities as they wait for the flypast.
The balcony with King Charles at the helm is much less crowded than it was under Queen Elizabeth as today only working royals make an appearance. William and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) of course have a prminent place as they are the the future of the monarchy and according to an expert, the true of the their relationship was on full display.
Expert says Prince William and Kate ‘were in their own little bubble’
Darren Stanton is a body language and behavioral expert with a degree in psychology. He previously worked as a police officer and used his expertise to uncover the truth when interviewing hundreds of suspects. He later moved into media and TV as a consultant and has been dubbed the “Human Lie Detector.”
He analyzed the footage from the royal event and said that William and Kate showed the world just how in love they are.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton told Showbiz Cheat Sheet: “William and Kate appeared stronger than ever. There’s a shot of Kate looking at William in his uniform during the parade, in almost a mischievous and smitten way. There’s a great sense of pride coming from her in the photo.
“There’s another fantastic photo of the couple looking at each other on the balcony, which really highlights how strong their connection is. Their bodies are turned towards one another, showing they’re matching and mirroring each other’s posture. There’s also prolonged eye contact — three to five seconds is considered typical, but this goes well beyond that. They’re clearly in their own little bubble and very much in love. They’ve got a fantastic rapport and nothing feels staged – everything about them is completely genuine.”
Stanton added: “Overall, Kate and William proved how united they are as a couple and just how close-knit their family is. There were nothing but genuine smiles and gestures between them — and it’s clear this is what the future of the monarchy looks like.”

Stanton also talked about the signifigance with the color of the dress Kate chose to wear this year as it is her first Trooping the Colour since she announced in Janauary that her cancer is in remission.
On behalf of Betfair Slots, the expert explained: “That color that Kate’s wearing it’s almost like turquoise. It is the color of tranquility, of protection, [and] it denotes healing. The white that’s included in her outfit is a significant color. It’s, again tranquility and peace, cleanliness and neutrality. You’ll tend to find that the Queen [Camilla] wears that color to show impartiality, something she shares in common with Kate.”
Regarding Queen Camilla going with white for this year’s Trooping the Colour, Stanton noted: “White is her go-to default color when attending these sort of events, just as Kate wears reds and blues at various events. The type of clothing that certainly Camilla and the royal family wear is significant for this kind of event.”
