Prince William surprised royal fans over the summer when he stepped out with a new accessory: A beard. The Prince of Wales has always been prim and proper, but the beard gave him a little more of an edge. Surprisingly, most royal fans loved it and thought it gave William a more laid-back look. But interestingly, someone else in the family has always had a strikingly similar beard — his brother, Prince Harry.

William and Harry have not always had a good relationship. The brothers have been on pretty rocky terms over the years, and recently, rumor has it that William and Harry don’t speak. William might be the future king, but there was always something Harry had that William didn’t: a beard — until now.
Over the summer, William stepped out with the new facial hair, and it received rave reviews from fans. After the positive feedback, it seems that the beard is here to stay. But did it inspire William’s new look?
Harry has always had a beard. And for that matter, he was always the more casual, laid-back brother during his time in the royal family. Now that he’s out, William has the chance to take on both roles: The proper, sophisticated heir to the throne with a chill, casual side. It seems that in recent years, William and Kate have worked hard to be more relatable and approachable in a way that Harry always was when he was a royal. And though William might never admit it, it also feels like he night have taken a page out of Harry’s book when he decided to grow out the beard.
Prince William and Prince Harry don’t communicate
Whether Harry inspired William’s new beard remains to be seen, but one thing is pretty certain: The brothers don’t talk that much. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, left the royal family back in 2020 and have only returned on a number of occasions. The two haven’t been to the UK together since 2022, and that’s also reportedly the last time William and Harry spoke.
Harry and William have been at odds ever since Harry started doing bombshell interviews and unleashed secrets about the royal family that had not been previously known. But in a surprising turn of events, William’s social media team wished Harry a happy birthday in mid-September as Harry celebrated turning 40. It marked the first time the royal family has acknowledged Harry’s birthday since 2021. Maybe William’s new beard is bringing them closer.
