But the Mysterious Girl singer revealed tonight that Junior had returned to the family’s mansion in Surrey.
He posted: “He’s home and safe, and he’s upstairs probably ready to sleep for days” alongside a laughing-face emoji.
Peter added: “I can relax now. Love you son.”
The 90s pop icon made no secret of his worry, admitting: “Taking him to the airport I was getting that sick sort of feeling in my gut. But I really want him to have fun and enjoy himself.”
Writing in his New magazine column he said of Junior: “It’s a bittersweet time because I’m so proud of the man he’s becoming, but it also means he’s legally an adult.
“And that means that although he’s the man of the house when I’m not there, he can also go to clubs, he can drink.”

Junior – who like his dad is a singer – performed at Ibiza Rocks where he was seen chatting to several beauties before taking a trip out to sea on a swanky yacht.
He also visited O Beach nightclub, where he was mobbed by fans and posed with club supremo Wayne Lineker.
The young star – who released his first song Slide last summer – shared a post thanking everyone for making his birthday epic.
He told his half-a-million followers: “Celebrating my 18th birthday the best way possible in Ibiza!
“I just want to say a massive thank you to you all for the Birthday Wishes and thank you everyone who continues to support me.”
He added: “I’m so excited to see what the future holds and I can’t wait for you to hear my new music! …this week?”
