Brad Pitt talked about “rebooting” on a recent podcast appearance. Fans connect the comment to one Jennifer Aniston made about “a sensitivity chip.”

Brad Pitt has been pretty open about his sobriety journey in recent years. His recent podcast appearance offered further insight into that journey and the grace he found inside a recovery program. One comment he made about needing “rebooting” seemed very purposeful. Fans and critics both think the Ad Astra star was slyly referencing a comment his first ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, made about him back in 2006.

Brad Pitt discussed needing ‘rebooting’ during his recent podcast appearance

Brad Pitt opened up candidly about his personal struggles during his June 23 appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard. Pitt reflected a lot on his sobriety and his journey to get there following his divorce from Angelina Jolie. Delving into the process, he discussed what he thought he needed the most.

Reflecting on his post-divorce period, Pitt described himself as being “pretty much on my knees.” He credited Alcoholics Anonymous with getting him to a better place. He acknowledged that he needed “rebooting.” The computer reference seemed odd for someone like Pitt, but now fans are drawing a parallel between the comment and one Jennifer Aniston made about him years ago.

While Brad Pitt’s comments were refreshing and hopeful, longtime fans could not help but draw a comparison between his use of the term “rebooting” and a comment his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, made about her former love all the way back in 2005.

In 2006, not long after her split from Pitt, Aniston, who had remained mostly quiet about the divorce, opened up about her feelings during an interview with Vanity Fair. The Friends star told the publication that she wished Pitt had handled his post-divorce romance and his words with a bit more tact and decorum. She suggested Pitt may not have realized what he was doing. She theorized that her ex-husband had “a sensitivity chip that’s missing.”

Pitt didn’t comment on Aniston’s thoughts at the time, but fans are drawing comparisons to the two computer-themed comments. Could Pitt have been coyly referencing his ex’s comment from 20 years ago? It’s always possible. While Aniston has spent years trying to shake the persona of a “jilted woman” in the media, she and Pitt seem fine as acquaintances. There doesn’t seem to be bad blood there, and Pitt likely didn’t mean anything bad if he was referencing the comment.
