Paris Hilton wants her kids to live the simple life.
The socialite and DJ admitted she plans to be “strict” with her kids, Phoenix, 1, and London, 6 months, when it comes to their use of cell phones and social media in the future.
“I hope that they are nerds like their dad and don’t want anything to do with that,” she told the WSJ in a preview of her upcoming interview for the magazine’s The Future of Everything Festival.
Hilton, 43, is married to businessman Carter Reum, who founded the M13 venture firm in 2016 and the alcohol brand VEEV Spirits in 2007, and co-penned the business book “Shortcut Your Startup: Ten Ways to Speed Up Entrepreneurial Success.”
“I’m going to try to not have them have a phone for a while,” the former “Simple Life” star went on in the preview clip obtained by Entertainment Tonight Wednesday.
“Some of these kids are just getting phones at way too young of an age, and there are just so many things online that I wouldn’t even want my children to be exposed to.”
“I never thought I’d say this, but I’m going to be the strict mom.”
Hilton, of course, gained fame in the late 1990s as a party girl in the New York City scene and quickly became the “It” girl of the time. She then ventured into the modeling business in the early aughts and went on to become a successful reality TV star, entrepreneur, DJ and activist.
After three failed engagements, she walked down the aisle with Reum in November 2021 at her late grandfather Barron’s Bel-Air estate.
In January 2023, the happy couple announced they secretly welcomed their baby boy via surrogate. They surprised fans months later when in November 2023, they revealed they welcomed a baby girl via surrogacy.
Hilton — who recently came under fire over the way she strapped her children into their car seats — said last month she hopes her offspring grow up feeling “so loved and seen and want to be that next generation of someone that brings positivity to the world,” according to People.
She also expressed her concerns that her children will be “as addicted to social media” as she is.
“[I want them] to live a world outside of social media and being on their phone all the time,” she noted.
“Kids are not going outside anymore and playing as much because everyone’s just so busy on their phones.”
