HOLLYWOOD A-lister Sir Daniel Day-Lewis has been spotted out and about in New York – and he looks completely different.
The legendary Brit actor, 66, has been living a private life since quitting showbiz six years ago and he is rarely seen in public.

But Daniel has now been snapped while nipping out in New York City with his wife Rebecca Miller, and his new look is a far cry from that of his days in the spotlight.
Daniel has replaced his red carpet-ready quaffed hair for a head of wild, grey locks and he appears to prefer a much more comfy clothing style these days.
He showed off his tattooed arms in a baggy short-sleeved shirt and opted for casual trousers and brown boots.
Perhaps attempting to disguise himself further, Daniel, who was Knighted in 2014 for services to drama, covered his eyes with large sunglasses and wore a green baseball cap on his head.
In contrast, Rebecca – who has been married to Daniel since 1996 – wore a crisp white blouse, tailored trousers and carried a smart handbag.
Prior to retirement, Daniel enjoyed a coveted career in Hollywood that spanned four decades.
During that time he won a huge number of prestigious accolades; most notably three Oscars, four BAFTAs, three Screen Actors Guild gongs, and three Golden Globes.
Daniel starred in a long list of blockbuster movies, including Gangs Of New York, The Last Of The Mohicans and My Left Foot.

But the 2018 film The Phantom Dead was to be his last.
In June the previous year, when the flick was in post-production, his spokesman had explained that Daniel would be turning his back on acting, although no reason was given.
“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor,” they said.
“He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years.
“This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
Daniel has since slipped out of the limelight and is rarely seen in public.
Shortly after deciding to leave the industry, the dad-of-two did admit that he felt “sadness” about it, but said he was compelled to walk away.
“The impulse to quit took root in me, and that became a compulsion. It was something I had to do,” Daniel told W magazine.
“Do I feel better? Not yet. I have great sadness. And that’s the right way to feel.
“When I began, it was a question of salvation. Now, I want to explore the world in a different way.”
