Noughties boyband look unrecognisable 21 years after No1 smash Crossroads as they reunite for huge pop gig

NOUGHTIES boy band Blazin’ Squad look unrecognisable 21 years after their number one hit smash Crossroads.

The band, which originally had a whopping 10 members, formed in 2001.

Blazin’ Squad was made up of James MacKenzie (Kenzie), Ollie Georgiou (Freek), Marcel Somerville (Rocky B), Chris McKeckney (Melo-D), Stuart Baker (Reepa), Lee Bailey (Krazy), Sam Foulkes (Spike-E), James Murray (Flava), Tom Beasley (Tommy-B), and Mustafa Omer (Strider) when they shot to fame.

The group released their first album In the Beginning in 2002 and it peaked at number 33 in the charts.

Their cover of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony song Crossroads was a huge success and landed in at number one the same year, which followed by Love on the Line which got to number six.

In 2003 they released their second album Now or Never which peaked at number 37 in the UK charts.

Successful tunes from the record include Just Be Dreamin’ and Flip Reverse.

By 2004 the band had gone their separate ways and two years later, James Mackenzie, James Murray and Mustafa Omer created Friday Hill.

The band hit the top 10 chafrt with the likes of Baby Googbye and One More Night Alone.

Meanwhile Marcel Somerville, Stuart Baker, Sam Foulkes and Chris McKeckney reunited in 2006, but later split again.

Three years later Mustafa, James Murray, James MacKenzie, Lee Bailey and Marcel joined forces once again.

Blazin’ Squad recently reunited for a huge pop gig at Reminice Festival this month.

The band now consists of Sam Foulkes, Marcel Somerville, Chris McKeckney and Ollie Georgiou.

They love to keep fans up to date with what they’re up to.

Blazin’ Squad are due to perform at the 90s Baby Pop concert in Manchester next month.

They said on their Instagram: “Manchester in October anyone? 🛹 Ticket Link in Bio.”
