The claims come in his £10million legal fight with the Guardian newspaper.

Clarke’s legal team are said to have applied for the paper’s libel defence to be stuck out.

The newspaper has defended its stories, in 2021 and 2022, which led to Clarke being suspended by Bafta.

The star of Doctor Who and Kidulthood is suing Guardian News and Media over stories which were published in 2021 and 2022 alleging sexual harassment, groping and bullying against women.

Clarke, 49, denies the allegations and says they led to him losing roles.

Sky halted work on the fourth series of Bulleproof, starring Clarke, while ITV also pulled the final episode of drama Viewpoint amid the fallout of the claims.

His defence is said to include claims that journalists deleted messages.

A decision on a March trial will be made at the High Court tomorrow.

The Guardian said: “This was a carefully- reported investigation.”
