In 2021, the band revealed that its lead singer had left, although he did not officially address the departure.

After calling it quits with Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Huey Morgan has finally broken his silence.

The 49-year-old had formed the iconic rock band in 1993 with other members, Brian Leiser and Steve Borgovini.

Now, Huey has opened up about his exit, saying the Fun Lovin Criminals “blocked” him online and tried to “pull a fast one” on fans by keeping his departure a secret.

Taking to X/Twitter, Huey said: “I see why they’ve blocked me. are trying to pull a fast one down under and don’t want y’all to know I’m not in the band anymore.”

He told his 35.6k followers his former bandmates were “sad and creepy” and now they’re a “tribute act”.

Huey added: “That’s sad and creepy y’all. Just a tribute act now…”

In November 2021 Fun Lovin Criminals stated: “Huey has officially confirmed his departure from the band. We wish him all the best with his endeavours.

“We will continue as Fun Lovin’ Criminals because of the love and dedication we have for our music and our fans. More details to follow.”

Fun Lovin’ Criminals now consists of Leiser (aka Fast) and Frank Benbini.

The band has released six studio albums, the most recent of which was “Classic Fantastic” in 2010.

They also continue to perform live shows.

A US tour is also reportedly in the works according to, Rotherham Advertiser and more new songs will be released.

Fast has replaced Morgan as the lead singer, and they’ve added a guitarist, Naim Cortazzi, who performed with them in Sheffield.

Huey is widely recognised as a DJ and presenter on BBC 6 Music and elsewhere.

The Huey Show now airs on the station on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

He also hosts other programmes on BBC Radio 2.

In addition to this, Morgan also released his first solo album, “Say It To My Face,” in 2012 as Huey And The New Yorkers.
