Taking to her Instagram, the chef posted a snap of her dish which she named “ruby noodles” to her 2.8 million followers.
She captioned the post: “#RecipeOfTheDay is Ruby Noodles! I know they look rather like strawberry laces, but I can assure you they don’t taste like that.
The TV star added: “Think along the lines of a beetroot-earthy tangle of chew, infused with full-on zing! (And they’re #vegan, btw).”
But, viewers were not a fan of the new recipe, as some said it resembled a plate of worms – with some branding it “gross”.

Rushing to the comments, one wrote: “Looks like a plate of worms.”

Another fan agreed: “They look more like red worms in my hot composter!”
A third complained: “Yuk! I don’t like the colour.”
A fourth added: “Not sure on the colour Nigella, looks like a bush tucker trial.”
A fifth disapproved: “Nope! Gross.”
This isn’t the first time Nigella’s cooking has come under fire, more recently the famous chef received backlash about her unique breakfast choice for Christmas.
In the clip, Nigella says: “I have a little something in mind for Christmas Day morning – and that is breakfast trifle.”
But many fans were not a fan of having trifle for breakfast as some said “it’s too much carbs”.
