Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom are married! The two actors tied the knot in Mexico on March 15, 2025. Howard Stern, Jimmy Kimmel, and Paul Rudd were just a few celebs who attended the star-studded ceremony. Rewind to the start of their romance and Bloom kinda, sorta popped the question—“Will you marry me?”—to the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star. Find out how the Paradise star (fans of the Hulu original series will recognize her as Jane) accidentally proposed to Theroux, ahead.
Theroux loaned Bloom gloves the night they met

Bloom’s accidental proposal started with a pair of gloves. She and Theroux met in 2022 after being introduced by their mutual friend, actor Louisa Jacobson (the youngest daughter of Meryl Streep), at a private party held at The Nines bar in New York.
When the party led to an after-party, Theroux loaned Bloom his gloves for the cold walk to their next destination. “After the party, a group of us went to grab a drink nearby,” Bloom told Vogue. “It was an abnormally cold night in New York City—about six degrees. And Justin very kindly offered me his gloves, which I gratefully accepted and promptly returned once we were back inside.”
Unbeknownst to Bloom—and her now-husband—she left something behind in one of the gloves.
Justin later found Nicole’s diamond ring inside one of his gloves as an apparent ‘joke’ proposal
The next morning, the Gilded Age star received a text from her now-husband. “This yours?” it read, alongside a photo. “It was a picture of him holding my little criss-crossed diamond ring which I had worn, and sadly assumed I’d lost, the night before,” Bloom explained.
“Turns out it had slipped off my cold finger into his large gloves when I returned them,” she continued, before revealing her accidental proposal. “Justin put his hands into the glove the next morning and the ring slid halfway onto his finger. He likes to joke that I proposed first, the very first night we met!”
“I for sure thought leaving the ring in my glove was a move,” Theroux joked, noting he now knows it wasn’t given Bloom’s affinity for misplacing things. “So, definitely not a move.”
A friend of Theroux’s knew Bloom was ‘the one’ for him before they’d even met

So, how’d the official marriage proposal happen for Theroux and Bloom? He popped the question during a vacation to Italy after a year and a half of dating. They had a “poignant conversation” during a candlelit dinner when he suggested they take their drinks down to the water. (There’d been a “radiant, full blue moon” at the time.)
“He popped back to the room, under the guise of getting us some towels, but was really collecting the ring,” Bloom recalled. Custom made by Stephanie Gottlieb Fine Jewelry, Theroux popped the question with a 4-carat, emerald cut, flawless diamond ring which has their birthstones embedded in the band.
“We were looking out at the water and the moon when he proposed,” she added. “He said some of the most beautiful things. It was wonderful—we were both crying.”
