It is unclear when he died as his body was reportedly “decomposing” when it was found by police just days before Thanksgiving.

Bryar’s cause of death is still unknown.

Investigations are set to continue but police have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.

They said his home was found in a normal state with his music equipment and weapons all left untouched.

He was last publicly seen on November 4, according to TMZ.

On the same day he posted a message on X appearing to reference the US election.

Animal Control visited the home after his death to take away two of his dogs.

Bryar joined My Chemical Romance following the release of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004, replacing drummer Matt Pelissier.

He toured with the band for years and was apart of the best selling album, The Black Parade.

He parted ways with the group in 2010 in what was described as a “painful declension”.

No official reason was ever given for the shock departure.

He reappeared on the album credits for the 2013 record, Conventional Weapons before leaving the music industry completely a year later.

The group reformed in 2019 but Bryar wasn’t apart of the reunion.

Bryar is still regarded as the last official drummer and the longest serving one for My Chemical Romance.

Ever since leaving he has spent his time working in real estate and helping out at animal rescue centres.

Thousands of fans of Bryar have paid tribute online.

One said: “The beat of a generation has gone silent.

“Bob Bryar, former MCR drummer, dies at 44 – gone too soon, but his rhythm will echo forever. Legends never truly die.”

Another wrote: “Rest in peace Bob Bryar. Thank you for being a awesome drummer.

“Thank you for being part of a team that made history in the heart of many people all around the world.”

A third left a touching message saying: “Absolutely devastated and heartbroken to hear about the passing of Bob Bryar.

“I grew up listening to My Chemical Romance, especially Black Parade.”

Bryar was born in Chicago, Illinois and first picked up a pair of drumsticks in his teenage years.

He regularly performed in bands at school including marching and jazz bands.

His first taste of the music industry came in 2000 when he acted as the sound engineer for several groups on the road.

While out on tours with bands such as Used and Thrice he grew close to the members of My Chemical Romance before officially joining as their drummer in 2004.
