Morgan Spurlock death updates — Super Size Me director dies at 53 as film fans praise McDonald’s documentary

DOCUMENTARY director Morgan Spurlock has died at the age of 53.

Spurlock was best known for directing the McDonald’s documentary, Super Size Me, which explored his journey exclusively eating the fast food chain for a month.

The film was nominated for an Oscar in 2004.

Spurlock’s family confirmed his death in a statement. He died in upstate New York after battling cancer.

Film fans are paying tribute to the director with one writing on X, formerly Twitter, “RIP Morgan Spurlock I absolutely loved that documentary.”

“RIP Morgan Spurlock. A very fine filmmaker.” another wrote.
