Thanks, I Hate It

Meri Brown said the universe was showing her she had “done her time” as her marriage came to a close.

Meri Brown and Kody Brown were married for decades, although many of their years together were unhappy ones. Sister Wives fans watched the marriage disintegrate over the years. Still, Meri seemed to hold out hope. Now, she seems to see her former union in a brand new light. She likened the end of her marriage to the end of a prison sentence.

Meri Brown likens her marriage to a prison stint

While Meri was resolute in her decision to hold onto her marriage to Kody Brown, much to the detriment of her own mental health for many years, she’s finally moving on. It seems that by the time she left, Meri really had a change of heart about her polygamist lifestyle and her connection to Kody Brown. In fact, she appeared to liken her marriage to a prison stint in a recently released clip from the show.

In a clip for the show’s upcoming episode obtained by Today, Meri and Kody work together to get her moved from Flagstaff, Arizona to Parowan, Utah. Kody is surprisingly emotional about the end of their time together, and while Meri is confused by his sudden sense of nostalgia, she doesn’t appear to share the sentiment. In a confessional, she points out that the move took place on their wedding anniversary and suggests that the date was the universe telling her that she had “done her time.” The phrase is most often attributed to prison stints.

Meri Brown was treated the worst out of all the wives

Kody Brown suddenly sees Meri Brown as his “favorite ex-wife.” The sentiment was an odd one. She hasn’t been one of his preferred people in many years. For years, viewer attention has honed in on Christine Brown and how Kody Brown mistreated her before their divorce. While Christine was mistreated, you could argue that Meri Brown was the most mistreated of Kody Brown’s four wives.

While Kody and Meri appeared to be in a good place when Sister Wives began, their marriage faltered early. They never regained their footing. A catfishing incident led to Kody and his other wives almost entirely icing Meri Brown out. Kody regularly mistreated her, waffling between verbally berating her and ignoring her completely. Meri insisted she was trying to work on her marriage. She even recently revealed that Kody gave her a list of things he wanted her to do to improve their relationship. He was never really on board, though.

His sudden emotion over Meri leaving might have caught her off guard, but she’s not falling for fake tears. Sister Wives fans aren’t falling for it either. Many are questioning his actual intentions, and none of them are good.
