Meghan Markle’s Most Expensive Piece of Jewelry Will One Day Belong to Princess Lilibet

Meghan Markle built a life for herself before meeting Prince Harry, and she once treated herself to a nice piece of jewelry that she hopes to one day pass down to her daughter.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been together since 2016, and when Harry and Meghan tied the knot in their 2018 royal wedding, Meghan inherited quite a bit of jewelry from the royal family.

However, before Meghan met Harry, she occasionally splurged on her own jewelry to celebrate herself. And the duchess’ most valuable piece of jewelry that she ever bought herself will likely one day be inherited by her daughter, Princess Lilibet. It holds special meaning to Meghan because it was something she purchased as a gift to herself.

Meghan Markle’s daughter will likely someday inherit her Cartier watch

Meghan had a different life before she met Harry. The duchess was an actor known for her role on the USA show Suits, in which she starred as Rachel Zane. Once Meghan met her now-husband, she made the decision to leave the show, and she and Harry spent a little under two years as working royals together before splitting from the royal family. Meghan has not gone back to acting, but she still carries part of that life with her in memories, including a special piece of jewelry she bought herself before she met the prince.

Meghan is the proud owner of a two-tone Cartier Tank watch, which is worth close to $9,000, according to Express. Meghan once spoke about her purchase, calling it a splurge. “I’ve always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season… I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version,” she told Hello! Magazine. “I plan to give it to my daughter one day.”

Meghan now has a daughter, Princess Lilibet, whom she and Harry welcomed in 2021. Although Lilibet is too young to understand both the monetary and sentimental value of watch, Meghan is probably excited to one day pass down the heirloom.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle keep their children out of the spotlight

Harry and Meghan left the United Kingdom for a more private life, and they have certainly been living that way as far as raising their kids. The duke and duchess hardly ever have their children in the public eye. Even on their 2024 holiday card, the only photo featuring the couple’s kids showed the backs of their heads.

Harry recently said during a New York Times interview that he is thankful the United States allows him to raise his kids and bond with them in a way he could never do in the UK. The assumption is that Harry can enjoy simpler tasks with his kids here, such as taking them to school, which he wouldn’t be able to do with the fanfare that surrounds the royal family.
