Find out what one of the Duchess of Sussex former friends just said about why they don’t talk to each other anymore.
It seems like everyone has an opinion about Meghan Markle‘s lifestyle show on Netflix.
With Love, Meghan debuted on the streaming platform on March 4 and along with the critics, people from the duchess’s past gave their take on what they thought of the series including Meghan’s old pal Nick Ede.
He and the former Suits star became friends in 2013. He told Express: “I do a lot of work with lots of Hollywood stars, and I was working with Eva Longoria doing all her charity work. So I asked Meghan to host the Global Gift Gala, which is a big charity event that we do. So, Meghan flew in and we became really good friends. We had a really nice, fun, good relationship and were friends for a few years.”
So why did they stop talking? Here’s what Ede said about that and what he didn’t like about the Duchess of Sussex’s show.
What Meghan’s ex-pal thought about her lifestyle show

Ede has seen Meghan’s Netflix show and spoke about what bothered him when he watched it explaining: “I always look at everything I do … saying to myself ‘Do you care?’ and the first thing I did when I watched it was say ‘No I don’t care.’
“There was nothing about it that I cared for. I didn’t care about the way I felt I was being almost patronized. I didn’t care for the way that the guests were treated. I didn’t really care about the takeaway tips.”
He added: “I felt they were all pretty patronizing. Especially the one about wrapping a present and using the side to make sure the edges are sharp. You know that kind of thing is so basic I felt almost patronized by Netflix for actually making me endure this for quite a few hours.”
Ede did have some praise for his old pal saying: “She looked fabulous and gorgeous but there was a shyness too, which was very endearing.”
Why he and the duchess no longer speak

Following Ede’s comments some wondered why he and Meghan stopped talking.
Ede told Hello!’s A Right Royal Podcast: “Things cooled off [after Harry and Meghan met] … We were messaging each other when she was feeling bullied and Prince Harry put out that statement, and I said, ‘I’m glad you’ve got somebody who’s actually supporting’ and she said, ‘That really means a lot.’ Our friendship was generally a good friendship. We’d message and text each other a lot … I have my own charity and she was going to help and write about it on The Tig.”
However, Meghan became less accessible as her relationship with Prince Harry grew.
“I got the Piers Morgan treatment in the end,” Ede joked referring to Morgan’s claim that he and the duchess had a friendship but she completely “ghosted him” when she started seeing Harry.
