Meghan Markle announces new business endeavor amid royal tensions

Onto bigger and better things.

Meghan Markle has signed for representation with Hollywood agency WME, but she won’t be back to acting any time soon.

The global entertainment agency announced the news on Thursday via Twitter, sharing a headshot of the Duchess of Sussex, who rocked a sleeveless dress with her hair styled.

“We are honored to announce that WME now represents Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex in all areas,” the agency’s tweet read.

“The agency will be focusing on building out her business ventures across multiple facets of the agency & its broader ecosystem, including film & television production, brand partnerships & more.”

However, according to Variety, “acting will not be an area of focus.”

Additionally, WME will also represent Archewell, the actress’s content creation label, which she launched alongside her husband, Prince Harry, 38.

Her WME team will include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, plus Brad Slater and Jill Smoller, who famously represents Markle’s bestie, Serena Williams.

The news of Markle’s new representation comes as she’s been keeping a low profile as King Charles III’s coronation — which will take place on May 6 — approaches.

Despite being invited to attend along with Harry, sources told Page Six that the mom of two decided to stay back in California as the memorable day takes place on her oldest son Archie’s fourth birthday. (They are also parents to daughter Lilibet, 1).

“There was no way that Meghan was going to miss her son’s birthday,” the source told us.

A second insider further told us, “They had to make a decision that felt genuine and authentic, especially after everything that has been said and all the things that have gone down.

“The words that Harry and Meghan have said about the importance of their family are lining up with their actions. They care about their family, so Meghan is going to stay [in California].”

As for Harry, he will jet off despite the tensions with the royal family, which started when they quit their roles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2020.

The ousted couple — who recently enjoyed a night out at the Lakers game — then accused the royal family of racially profiling the actress and ignoring their pleas for help when she was plagued with suicidal ideations while pregnant with their son.

Harry has since expressed his desire to hear his father apologize to both himself and his wife after the alleged harsh treatment they suffered from the family, including his older brother, Prince William.

The coronation will be the first time Harry will see his family after the release of his book, “Spare.”

One highly placed royal insider told us of Harry and his family, “Even though Meghan is not going, it’s still going to be extremely awkward.”

Nonetheless, they are “delighted she’s not coming,” former BBC reporter Tom Bower told Page Six.
