The top secret shoot took place at one of the supermarket chain’s flagship stores in Bromley, South East London.
It comes after The Sun revealed that Canadian crooner Michael Buble, 48, is appearing as a checkout till worker in Asda’s Christmas TV ad.
A source said: “It’s going to be a battle of the Christmas ad crooners.
“Rick is a huge name and has a massive fan base. Bosses are chuffed to have booked him.”

Last year Sainsbury’s festive ad featured This Morning’s Alison Hammond as a medieval countess who did not like Christmas pudding.
Supermarkets are due to release their festive ads at the beginning of November.
A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman said: “We’re never gonna give up the secrets of our Christmas ad this early.”
Never Gonna Give You Up topped the British charts for five weeks in 1987.
Rick had 13 Top 30 hits globally before “retiring” in 1993.
But he returned in 2000 — and performed at Glastonbury this year.
