Mandy Moore slams Amazon for delivering package to in-laws’ house torched by LA fires: ‘Do better’

Mandy Moore slammed Amazon Tuesday, telling the company to “do better” after a package was delivered to her in-laws’ house torched by the Los Angeles wildfires.

The “This Is Us” alum took to her Instagram Story and shared a photo showing the remains of the house and what appeared to be a brown box from Amazon sitting among the ruins.

“Can we not have better discretion than to leave a package at a residence that no longer exists? This is my mother and father in law’s home. Smh,” Moore, 40, wrote on the picture.

The “A Walk to Remember” star’s post was enough to grab the attention of the major retailer, as an Amazon spokesperson issued a statement in response to Moore’s message.

“We’ve reached out to Ms. Moore via Instagram to apologize for this and to ask for more information from her in-laws so we’re better able to investigate what happened here,” Amazon rep Steve Kelly said in a statement obtained by Page Six.

“For weeks, we’ve advised those who are delivering on our behalf in southern California to use discretion in areas that were impacted by wildfires – especially if it involves delivering to a damaged home – that clearly didn’t happen here.”

Moore’s mother and father-in-law weren’t the only people in the famous star’s family affected by the devastating fires that swept through the Los Angeles area in January.

The “Candy” singer, who is married to husband Taylor Goldsmith, revealed her brother-in-law Griffin Goldsmith and his wife were also affected by the fires. She shared the couple’s GoFundMe campaign after their home was burned to the ground in the wildfires.

As for Moore, all but the main area of her and her husband’s home was destroyed in the Eaton Fire, leaving it uninhabitable.

Though, the couple received some help from friends Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma, who allowed them to stay in their house during the difficult time, Taylor’s brother Griffin revealed last month.

Later that month, Moore’s former “This is Us” co-star Sterling K. Brown gave an update on the actress, who shares three young children with her husband, saying she’s “very much in the midst of it all.”

“It’s one day at a time,” Brown said of Moore.
