“It’s a…… 💙💙💙”
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are having a baby boy!
The “Dancing with the Stars” pros announced the sex of baby No. 2 via Instagram on Thursday with the help of their 6-year-old son, Shai.
In the adorable clip, Shai could be seen opening a piece of paper that revealed the sex of his little sibling while the proud parents danced in the background.
“The Chmerkovskiy’s as a whole are creating their own soccer team LOL!” Murgatroyd, 36, captioned the gender reveal. “We’re so elated that Shai will get a baby brother and cannot wait to meet this little guy.”
The expectant mother further shared her excitement for the news, writing that their incoming boy is “measuring quite large” and likes to “kick mummy in the ribs at all hours of the night.”
“Honestly though, when we heard he was fully healthy we both shrieked with joy. There is nothing quite like getting that phone call, with the nurses *pause* (ugh it’s awful) before telling you they’re all good results !! 🙏🏻❤️

“We will have a house FULL of boys, including our little Hachi! I guess this means we have to try for baby number 3 to get that girl 🤷🏼♀️🙈,” she concluded her post, hinting at the desire to continue expanding their famly.
After multiple miscarriages and undergoing IVF, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd announced they were expecting their second child together in January.
“It was a shock to all of us and we found out right before I was going in for my second round of IVF,” the expectant dancer shared.
“This news has brought extraordinary bliss to our family and we have so much to be grateful for 🙏 .”
Before their current pregnancy, the couple had been open about their intentions to give son Shai a sibling but had struggled to conceive.
In fact, Murgatroyd revealed in June 2022 that she incurred her first pregnancy loss in a Whole Foods bathroom in 2020.
“I was sitting in the bathroom sobbing,” she told People. “That was something that will probably live with me for the rest of my life, being on that toilet by myself, knowing what was happening and not being able to stop it.”
