Major update in probe into raid at Gary Barlow’s £6million mansion while star was away with Take That

POLICE have dropped a probe into a raid at Gary Barlow’s £6million mansion carried out when he was away with Take That.

A gang forced their way in to the country pad a day after the band were on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on April 7 last year.

Gary, 54, was understood to have found out the next day, and alerted cops.

It was unclear if anything was stolen or if the singer’s wife or three children were home at the time.

Police questioned locals in the village in southern England to see if anyone spotted anything suspicious.

Crime scene experts were seen taking photos at the Grade II-listed home, bought by Gary for £2.3million in 2007.

It is believed that “away-day raiders”, who target homes of the rich and famous when they are known not to be there, were behind the burglary.

A source said: “There’s always the fear that the gangs flee the UK after raids, which makes the cops’ job even harder.”

Thames Valley Police confirmed the case had been filed pending further information and renewed an appeal for witnesses.
