Machine Gun Kelly Once Recalled Cassie Hyperventilating When Stuck in an Elevator With Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Machine Gun Kelly clubbed, smoked crazy drugs, and experienced a lot of wild times when hanging out with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs back in the day. However, perhaps one of the rapper’s most memorable moments with Diddy didn’t happen at a party but inside an elevator.

It was impossible for Machine Gun Kelly to run out of stories to tell about Diddy. Kelly was first signed to Bad Boy records in 2011 after a bidding war, so had a lot of time to spend with his former mentor. Which also meant he was exposed to a lot of the business mogul’s mischief. One incident Kelly couldn’t forget about was when he found himself stuck in an elevator with Diddy and fellow Bad Boy artist Cassie. The three were also surrounded by other members of Diddy’s entourage. According to Kelly, Cassie had the hardest time being trapped in that situation.

“It was me, it was Boo – Akon’s brother. Cassie, who was hyperventilating crazy. Dude, it was like 20 of us in one elevator at the Cosmopolitan,” Kelly once told Power 106 Los Angeles.

Kelly understood why Cassie was panicking back then, and asserted he would’ve reacted the same way if he wasn’t trying to save face. What made matters worse was that Diddy and his team were drunk at the time, so their request for help wasn’t taken seriously.

“They were just, like, it’s a bunch of people playing around the elevator. It’s New Year’s Eve. Never sent help,” Kelly added.

While they were stuck, Kelly shared that he and Cassie had a little side conversation while trying to comfort each other through the ordeal. With no one to send help, Kelly and Diddy’s squad eventually decided to climb out of the elevator themselves.

“They told us, when we got out, they were like, that was the stupidest thing you could’ve ever done. If that elevator would’ve just started, you would’ve just lost your life,” Kelly said.

Kelly also confided that he got stuck in an elevator a couple of more times on separate occasions.

Machine Gun Kelly needed to hold onto his normality unlike Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Before Diddy’s alleged controversies and freak-offs were exposed, Kelly felt Diddy helped guide him on the right path.

“Right now, he just mostly keeps me from doing dumb s***, like when he sees me doing dumb s***, he’ll call in and give you those words that’ll stick in your head more than others considering,” Kelly once said in an interview with Out of the Blue.

However, despite how close they were professionally, Kelly confided they weren’t really friends. Diddy’s extravagant lifestyle, which has experienced a serious downgrade since his arrest, clashed too much with Kelly’s.

“He doesn’t call me and dog me for the s*** I’m doing, he’ll call and be like, ‘Yo, I saw this happened.’ I mean, hell say his what the f***s, but he’ll give a reason for why it’s what the f***, so that’s cool. But, you know, we live such different lifestyles it’s hard for us to be close and buddy, buddy, we just live different lifestyles,” he said.

He delved a little further into just how different their lifestyles were in an interview with Jenesis Magazine.

“You kicking it around him is like … his whole life is, like, it’s crazy to look at it,” Kelly said about Diddy. “I make sure I keep my normality all the time. That m*****f***er is like a walking corporation. It’s nuts. I know you can’t enjoy that.”
