Plenty of A-list celebrities were in Venice for Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s three-day wedding extravaganza.
After their nuptials on June 27, guests were treated to a pajama-themed party thrown by the newlyweds the following evening. And the couple showed plenty of PDA and shared a secret exchange caught by a lip reader.
Here’s more on that and what many of the celebs wore to the big loungewear party.
Bezos and Sánchez threw a PJ party for their guests following the wedding
Some of the stars who attended the party included Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Orlando Bloom, Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti, Usher and Jenn Goicoechea, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Sydney Sweeney, and Tommy Hilfiger.
While most of the men kept with the pajama theme, some of the ladies, like Kylie and Kendall, were decked out in looks that didn’t follow any theme. However, their big sister Kim rocked a lingerie-inspired number complete with a corset, sheer stockings, and garters. And Mama Kris sported a long robe with feathers on the sleeves.
Winfrey and King also leaned into the loungewear theme with Lady O wearing a shimmery bronze two-piece set and King in a long tank dress and robe.
As for the men in PJs, Gates opted for a pair of Prada pajamas, DiCaprio wore a burgundy pajama set, Brian Grazer donned an animal-print set, and Bloom was seen in a polka dot set as was Edward Enninful. Usher, who performed at the affair, wore a long bathrobe over blue tuxedo pants.
Lip-reading expert observes secret exchange between Bezos and Sánchez
And in the footage of Bezos and Sánchez on the way to that party via water taxi on June 28, a lip reader noticed a sweet exchange between the couple.
Nicola Hickling is a lip-reading expert and the founder of LipReader, a company specializing in lipreading and expert witness reports. Hickling has spearheaded the development of innovative technologies and services that empower individuals with hearing impairments. She has also appeared in the likes of the Daily Mail, Page Six, Newsweek, and more.
The lip-reading pro spoke to the Daily Mail about what she observed between the bride and groom en route to the party, which was held at a private venue.
According to Hickling, Bezos was seen helping Sánchez step into a water taxi and offered to assist her again as she adjusted the hem of her pink Atelier Versace gown. Sánchez then smiled at her husband and as the boat pulled away, mouthed the words “love you” before they shared a kiss. After a moment, Sánchez glanced toward the assembled press and appeared to say, “Impressed.” She and Bezos then turned back and waved to onlookers.
The wedding was said to cost upwards of $55 million, and while there were protests over environmental concerns and overtourism, some in the city said they were also mindful of how much money it brought into Venice over those few days.
