Legendary 70s & 80s icon postpones major Glasgow Hydro show

A LEGENDARY 70s and 80s music icon has been forced to postpone tonight’s Glasgow gig due to injury.

Stevie Nicks, 75, was set to take to the stage at the OVO Hydro.

But the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman has been forced to postpone the show.

The singer recently suffered a leg injury which required a minor surgical procedure.

She now needs a few days of recovery time.

As well as the Glasgow show tonight, her gig in Manchester on Tuesday, July 9 has also been postponed.

Fans are being advised to hold onto their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon.

A message from the organiser read: “Due to a recent leg injury requiring a minor surgical procedure that will need a few days of recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled performances in Glasgow Saturday July 6 and Manchester Tuesday July 9 have been postponed.

“More information will be available at point of purchase, ticketholders are advised to hold on to their tickets as rescheduled dates will be announced soon.”

Nicks last played at the venue back in 2015 with her band mates during their Show Must Go On tour.

But she will return to the city as a solo artist.

It comes after the Dreams hitmaker announced that she would headline at BST Hyde Park this summer without her legendary band.

The singer will join a number of huge headline acts including Kings Of Leon, Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue and Stray Kids for the concert series sponsored by American Express.

Fleetwood Mac crafted some of music’s most recognisable hits from the 1970s and beyond.

As part of the group, Stevie enjoyed success as Fleetwood’s songs Landslide, Rhiannon, Little Lies, Go Your Own Way, Hold Me, and Everywhere achieved mainstream popularity.

She also helped the band become one of the best-selling music acts of all time with a whopping 120 million records sold worldwide.

Rumours, Fleetwood Mac’s second album with Nicks, became one of the best-selling albums worldwide.

In 1981, Stevie released her first solo album Bella Donna.
