Elle Woods and Lulu, Kirk’s girlfriend both had a love of expensive pet accessories. They both carried Fifi and Romeo dog carriers.

What do Legally Blonde 2 and Gilmore Girls have in common? At first glance, you would probably assume they have nothing in common besides having some quirky characters and a connection to the Ivy League. If you watch closely, though, you’ll notice that one of Stars Hollow’s more obscure residents has the same style as Legally Blonde fan’s beloved Elle Woods. Elle and Lulu sport the same dog carrier for a brief moment in time.

Lulu from ‘Gilmore Girls’ and Elle Woods have a bag in common

As characters, Lulu and Elle Woods don’t have much in common. Elle, a lawyer, and Lulu, a teacher in Stars Hollow, probably wouldn’t have ever crossed paths. Still, they have more in common than their iconic four-letter names. The sweet-natured ladies had the same taste in dog carriers.

In a season 4 episode of Gilmore Girls, fans can see Kirk Gleason carrying a bold pink and white polka dog purse. Kirk points out that the bag isn’t a purse, then explains that his girlfriend, Lulu, had gone out of town and entrusted him to care for her, presumably, tiny dog. The bag belonged to Lulu. Eagle-eyed fans might have noticed that the bag looks pretty familiar. That’s because they’ve seen it before. It’s the same bag Elle Woods is seen carting Bruiser Woods around during Legally Blonde 2.

While we can’t say for 100% certainty that Lulu and Elle’s bags were sourced from the same store, the timing makes sense. A famous pet boutique created the bag specifically for the movie. Legally Blonde 2 was shot in 2002 and 2003. The flick opened at the box office in July 2003. Fans spy Kirk holding the same bag in season 4, which aired between September 2003 and May 2004.

Where did Elle Woods’ bag come from?

So, where exactly did the bag come from? Assuming Lulu’s dog purse is the exact same one Elle carried, we can tell you exactly where it came from. The purse Elle carries in the Legally Blonde sequel was created by Fifi and Romeo, a dog boutique favored by celebrities.

The boutique specifically designed the purse for the movie and later sold it to the public. It’s still available for sale, but it will cost you. The dog carrier retails for $475. The bag is crafted for absolute luxury. It is made from Italian leather and features several interior pockets and a removable cushion to ensure your four-legged friend rides in style.
